Some small but difficult things have happened over the past three months (which we’ll talk about later), and I have found it... Go to writer’s conferences. I know. I’m using the Bossy Voice again. But here’s the thing: Writer’s conferences are so good. So, so good. And here’s one that I’m speaking at. It’s the LDS Storymakers’ Conference in May, 2011. Here is registration and information. I’m teaching a class on Truth and Fiction on Saturday, and... Another draft down! Wo-hoo! This draft is a fun one, because I get to put in chapter markers. That, for some reason, is Big Joy for me. It has chapters! Twelve of them! And they are numbered! (Please forgive the uncharacteristic use of the exclamation point. I generally refrain. But sometimes, you just gotta do... There is no heat in my dryer. That is not a metaphor. Just the sad fact. This morning, in a fit of early-birdiness, I put in the first load of laundry at 5:45. Then I went about doing all the things that needed doing, and at 7, I checked the dryer. It was off. But... Hey, remember that I have a blog? Nah, me either. Okay, so it has been nearly a week, and I was hoping that I’d catch up on a whole lot of blog reading (has it really been that long?) but instead I’ve been helping neighbor lady divide some plants, and baking rosemary bread, and working...
